“Do not let 4 stars deceive you - some elements would get 2 stars, others would get 5, such a confused experience!!The culinary experience, just wow. Absolutely amazing food, prepared by an incredibly friendly and talented chef. We were fortunate to have the place to ourselves, but the food was to die for, and the atmosphere still brilliant.Aquarius bar in an evening was superb, Jonny on the bar was entertaining from start til end each night, and nothing was too much trouble. If you're not huge on overly loud entertainment at the main building, this is where you need to go in an evening, just brilliant. The sports bar; food was.... Ok. Really nothing amazing, but it's a sports bar, I can give that. Staff were excellent though, we were the for the Euro's, and I don't think I ran dry once. One think to watch out for, they will often refill the same glass, which I have no issue with, but just make sure you don't drop a contact lense in a glass (like my bloody wife), because you'll get a surprise at the bottom of your drink 🤣Calypso, hunter, armadillo and the hideaway grill, all too notch. Some slight niggles, but nothing to really complain about.However.We arrived for our honeymoon, checked in to the hideaway and had no problems at all for the first few days. Towards the second half of the holiday, we started noticing mould in the room and the floors were getting very wet, but we got a call before we had said anything saying due to some issue in and around our room, we had to move room, the lady on the phone was apologetic, but assured us were were going to room 1108 as a free upgrade to diamond club for our trouble. Excellent, we thought. Packed the bags, went to reception to get keys reprogrammed, where she then told us we weren't going diamond club anymore, instead three doors down from where we already were.... So back off we went. Yes, we didn't pay for diamond club, but please do not say you're upgrading us, then just not do it.The overall fit and finish for a luxury hotel is absolutely terrible. It shouldn't bother me, and maybe won't bother others, but when the sockets don't line up, glass on the balcony is broken, one shower doesn't work, and everything is just hideously out of square and level, it infuriates me! These are the things that are right in a bloody premier Inn, considering the price difference, I'd expect the little things to be right! Generally, you may notice things look a bit tatty here and there, which in my eyes, just isn't right for the price. The last negative we had was some of the service. Only a very small number of staff, but some are wholly ignorant and rude. By contrast, 90% are the happiest and friendliest people you will ever meet. But, having said all the above, we still had a good time away, we really did. Even through hurricane Elsa, it was great!”

“World class. This is how we would describe the service and amenities are at the Royalton St Lucia. We stayed the week before Christmas 2020, and so the coronavirus restrictions were in place, however this did not stop the wonderful staff make our experience any less luxurious. We were staying in the Hideaway section and were also in the Diamond club, and so our review is specific to these areas. Upon arrival to the Hideaway, we were welcomed by our lovely butler and showed our room, which had the swim up pool just outside with a view of the ocean; it was beautiful. The room had all the facilities we needed; a large shower and separate whirlpool bath, hairdryer, safe, new towels provided each day, and air conditioning. It was a very comfortable room to come back to each day. Every morning we had breakfast at the buffet, which had a selection of every kind of breakfast food you can think of as well as excellent service – because of coronavirus it was not self-service but friendly staff assist you in plating up the food you request on your behalf. The other breakfast option is at El Dorado, with a sea view, and this is table service with a menu. We would usually head to the Diamond Club exclusive pool area in the morning and remain there most of the day – there is shade in the morning and it is usually quiet and so you can get a lounger in the area you choose. Children are allowed into this area, but we never found it too loud. The bar opens there at 10am and they serve food at lunch time, which is very tasty. We brought metal straws with us, which we would highly recommend, as straws are not provided with the drinks and some of the cocktails are best drank out of a straw in our opinion! We ate lunch at the Italian restaurant a few days, which is also very good. Restaurant choice in the evening was by booking only, which our butlers arranged, and the food in each was excellent. Our favourites were the Japanese Teppanyaki (Zen) and the Indonesian (Calypso) restaurants, where the food and service were exemplary. The only restaurant we would not recommend was the Sports Bar; the food was limited but good but the service was poor in comparison to the high levels elsewhere on the resort. Most surprisingly was the lack of ability for the TVs to play a selection of sports other than one or two channels, disappointing for a sports bar. We enjoyed the evening’s entertainment and music at the Martini bar in the evening, where the selection of cocktails was great. We would usually take a martini and go up to the level above the main bar area, which was a bit quieter and had seats to look over the view of the resort and the entertainment. We must call out two very important people who made our stay at the Royalton very special; our butlers Shandell and Denver. Every day they would come and find us and check that our day was going well, check if we needed any drinks or assistance, help with booking our restaurants for that evening, and support with any other questions or queries we had. Most importantly they did this all with a smile and great charm, getting to know us and having conversations throughout the day. They set the standard of exceptional service at the Royalton, and we absolutely would recommend them to any future guest. We hope to return to St Lucia and to the Royalton, as the coronavirus restrictions meant there were parts of the island that we weren’t able to explore and wanted to see, so we have booked again for November 2021! If you’re looking for an incredible break with world class service, food, and hospitality then look no further than the Hideaway at Royalton St Lucia.”
