The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort
The iconic "Pink Palace of the Pacific" right on its own private beach with a lavish pool complex spa and luaus the Royal Hawaiian a Luxury Collection Resort Waikiki is a Honolulu landmark. Built in 1927 on a prime stretch of Waikiki Beach where Queen Ka'ahumanu had her summer palace Royal Hawaiian has 528 luxury rooms and suites divided between the flamingo-pink Spanish-Moorish original building bordered by a lush garden with a majestic banyan tree and a newer 17-story Royal Beach Tower. Rooms are decorated in a tropical theme and include plush beds mini-fridges iPod docking stations and flat-panel TVs with premium cable. Rooms have views of the garden royal grove or ocean and some rooms have lanais. Wi-Fi is available for a charge. The hotel has a multi-pool complex with 70-foot water slide hot tubs weekly luaus luxury day spa lei-making classes and a beachfront restaurant and famous bar where the Mai Tai was said to have been invented. Parking is included in the resort fee. The Royal Hawaiian is nestled right on a private stretch of Waikiki Beach next to the Royal Hawaiian Center for indoor shopping and across the street from the International Market Place. Daniel K. Inouye International Airport is eight miles southeast.

“Tivemos uma estadia maravilhosa aqui. O hotel e os jardins são lindos, e o acesso à praia de Waikiki é imbatível. Os funcionários são gentis e prestativos. Nós apreciamos nossos muffins de banana e café da padaria RH pela manhã e adoramos as panquecas rosas do Surf Lanai. O Mai Tai Bar tinha ótimos drinks, boa música e boa energia. Nós amamos nosso quarto no jardim na seção histórica - era tranquilo e bonito e a cama era tão confortável. A única crítica que tivemos foi o atendimento no restaurante Azure deixou um pouco a desejar. Se você decidir ficar aqui, saiba que você deve reservar essas cadeiras de praia com antecedência. Reserve-os no site ao reservar sua estadia, para que não haja surpresas.”

“It wasn’t amazing or terrible. The service was definitely not a 5 star rating. I think I got better service at 3 star hotels than this one. The front desk check in didn’t even bother to explain to you about any of the amenities offered and when I asked about them, just threw me a piece of paper. I didn’t know where anything was located in the hotel and just had to roam around until I found the pool, the lounge, the area where they have the cultural classes and even elevators. When we got to the room the extra housekeeping items I had asked for beforehand so I would have less contact with people (it’s CoVid) were not there and was even missing items for even our first day. They had to come twice because they forgot to bring all stuff. So much for trying to get less contact. It was convenient to be right on the beach, but that was about it. Restaurants were over priced for just blah food, but I guess you pay for the view since you’re looking at the beach. The best service I got was from the valet guys. They were super friendly and helpful. I’ll try another hotel on the beach next door the next time we come.”
